Toll roads cost from Barcelona apx 12€ from Gerona apx 4€ it helps to have change or small notes.

FROM BARCELONA AIRPORT- Exit airport and follow signs for Gerona. Stay on this road till you are around Barcelona and heading north on toll road, (blue signs AP7). Once you are on the toll road A7 stay on it until exit 4 signposted to Figures & Dali Museum. on leaving A7 you join the N11 follow signs for Roses. You will be on N11 for about 5-6 miles keep your eyes open for Roses and follow these signs. If everything goes to plan, you should leave the N11 and join Roses road at a junction with a Nissan dealership in front of you. Now heading towards Roses stay on road for about 5 miles (look out for a large gorilla and elephant in a field on your right with a slide coming out of them) until you see a roundabout with a large metal sculpture in the middle of it, a police station on your right and a supermarket on your left.
At this roundabout take first exit, you should then be driving down a dual carriageway for about half a mile, stay in right hand lane, bear right (roundabout on your left with fountain in middle) stay on this road, around left bend, past shops and park on right.
Once past park go over roundabout and take the 3rd turning on right, then almost immediately turn left again, the villa will be found on the right within 100yards (just before a large blue villa).
FROM GERONA AIRPORT - Exit airport on road and you come to a large roundabout the last exit will take you onto the A7 toll road, head north sign posted to Gerona, stay on this road until exit 4, signposted to Figures & Dali Museum. on leaving A7 you join the N11 follow signs for Roses. FROM FRENCH BORDER - The French A9 road becomes the A7 at the border head towards Barcelona but exit at junction 3 signposted Figures, you then travel apx 6 miles on the N11 and follow the signs for Figures/Roses. Roses is the road you want, you should leave the N11 and join Roses road at a junction with a Nissan dealership in front of you. Car hire is not essential once you are at the villa, cycling or walking is easy and safe, however the cost of hire is usually no more or close to the cost of airport transfers. Gerona airport is the closest airport (transfer time approx 35 mins), Ryanair fly here from almost everywhere (they call it Barcelona-Gerona GRO). The main Barcelona airport is an easy drive or train trip but allow 2 hours, BA. and Easyjet are just 2 that fly here. Perpignan is 55 mins away in France, Ryanair and Flybe.

Local shops bars, restaurants, cafe 1 min walk / approx 300 yards away, the Alberes square, offer a range of great restaurants to suit all tastes, plus family run bars, supermarket, bakery, internet shop, cafes and butchers, ideal for walking to and from. The town centre and larger supermarkets, include Aldi, Lidl, Intermarche and Montserrat are under 5 mins away by car.
